On April 29th, the first meeting of the academic committee and the technical expert committee of the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Mining and Equipment for Deep Metal Mines, jointly established by Northeastern University, Northern Heavy Industries and Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences, was held at Northeastern University. Since the mixed-ownership reform in 2019, North Heavy Industries has filled 19 national gaps and set 5 world records. Among them, the engineering verification of the first 100% domestically produced shield machine jointly manufactured with the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully broke through the key technologies of key components such as main bearings and cutting tools, achieving a breakthrough in the "last mile" of domestic production of shield machines, and its overall performance reached the international leading level.
In the field of tunnel engineering, in 2021, the world's first full-face tunnel boring machine with a main beam medium displacement walking type for coal mines rolled off the production line. In the field of bulk material handling, in 2022, the world's largest-span portal scraper conveyor QGM700/65 was successfully applied in overseas markets. This project not only won the Excellent Award in the National Machinery Industry Product Quality Innovation Competition, but also its common rail technology was the first of its kind in China. In the field of metallurgical equipment, in 2023, the world's largest specification Φ5200×24500mm mixers and granulators emerged one after another. In the same year, the design of the world's largest 5500mm wide medium and thick plate cutting head shears and fixed-length shears was completed.
