In a certain mining area in Liaoning Province, a new equipment wearing a "golden armor" and printed with the "NHI" logo is rapidly stripping the rocks in front of it. This is a tunnel boring machine developed and manufactured by Northern Heavy Industries in collaboration with Northeastern University, using a brand-new microwave rock-breaking technology. Its efficiency is 2 to 3 times that of traditional tunnel boring machines.
Through cooperation with Northeastern University, North Heavy Industries has solved the long-standing problem of mechanical excavation of hard rock, bringing about a revolution in hard rock cutting and mechanized mining of metal mines. Meanwhile, this equipment will also provide an equipment foundation for the intelligent and unmanned operation of hard rock excavation and metal mining.
In recent years, North Heavy Industries has carried out in-depth cooperation with renowned domestic universities such as Northeastern University, Jilin University, Yanshan University and Shenyang University of Technology. At the site of a domestic mining project, the permanent magnet semi-direct drive spiral vertical mill successfully completed the on-site trial run with materials.
It is understood that the spiral vertical mill is a new generation of mining production equipment that Northern Heavy Industries has launched to the market in recent years. Compared with the traditional two-stage mill, it has the advantages of small floor space, high production efficiency, low maintenance cost and low operating power consumption, promoting the green transformation and upgrading of China's mining industry.
